Jingle Bells
While Collin was sleeping Clayton and I played school. We sang songs and picked pine cones and neddles for an art project. Check out this song.
Big brother
Clayton tries to be so gentle with Collin that when he kisses him he just brushes his lips against his skin. This was the first time that Clayton decided to pick Collin up all by himself. Colling turns 3 weeks tomorrow.
Surviving the first few weeks
I figured I would get one more update done before Christmas. The first week of being parents of two we had lots of help from my parents and brother Jared so it was a pretty easy week. Grandpa and Grandma Brock played with and taught Clayton many things. Check out the video above of the "little pig and wolf" play that my mom and Clay put together. It is nice that Clayton helps us rememeber that life is still full of flying and imagination.

It is a.....BOY!
We are blessed with a new baby. For those who don't know we decided to wait to find out the gender of our baby at his or her birth. We kind of thought that we were having a baby girl but we were surprised with a baby boy who looks so much like his older brother did when he was born. Collin David Wilkey was born Wednesday Nov. 24th (4 days early) and weighed 6 lb 10 oz and 18 inches long. He is so tiny to us. (Clay was 8 lb and 4 days over due). One feature that is different from the two boys is the eye brow thickness. Clayton had manly eyebrows from day one and Collin has more baby like eye brows. Collin has brought a tender spirit into our home. He is such a good baby. I feel great! I shoveled snow for 1 1/2 hours and jogged a mile in short strides. I feel blessed to have a quick recovery.

Halloween and Leaves

Beginning Fall!
Halloween time!
We saw an elderly man selling pumpkins on the side of the road and stopped. So much more fun buying pumpkins not from the grocery store. Next year we'll just plant them ourselves, sounds like even more fun. Clayton choose this pumpkin and carried it all the way to the car. Devin choose one that looked like the shape of a head. It will be fun to see how he'll use his artistic ability.
Ending the summer!
I decided to pull out some paint one day and so Clayton and I made word blocks saying, "Join Us!" which is by our dinning table. Also "Clayton" which will go in his room. Then I painted some walls and ceiling in the home. I decided I would Clayton practice his painting skills just on the blocks. Can you tell why? We had great success with our watermelons. We had three about this size and ate them up. I shared a little with Devin. We had a few visits to the Legacy Center swimming pool and one more kiddie pool fill at home in Septmember. We like to end the summer with a splash. Clayton, like most boys, loves to play in the dirt. He likes when I play with him and so I thought of a girly approach to playing in the dirt. Now he always wants to make cookies, cakes, and pizza out of the dirt, rocks, and leaves. The dirt picture are his cookies, which he made all by himself.

We love our enterainer!
We love this video. Devin has been playing his guitar and harmonica lately and so Clayton thought he would give it a try but show up his dad by playing them simultaneously.
Camping in Diamond Fork Canyon and baby belly shots.
Playing in the mud, water, and a visit to Thanksgiving Point Gardens
Clayton spends much time outside with Devin. I often find Clayton into "new" messes after I have given him a bath but it's all worth it. Here is a picture of him in the mud and then one of him soaking wet playing in the waterfall water. We also took advantage of the $2 Tuesday at Thanksgiving Point. Of course the favorite part for Clay was to see the huge fish.

Camping and big boy pants!
Clayton loves to wear a life vest. We had to convince him to take it off after trying it on at home so he could fit in his carseat. After a long afternoon on the water he fell asleep sitting straight up in the raft. Good thing the vest provided good neck support. He wears a life vest at the Legacy Center swimming pool. He is really good at kicking his feet.
The only great story to share from experimenting with the training potty and under pants is that it is funny when he sits down and makes a "peeing" noise and he thinks that is how you go. We are still waiting for something to really happen, but it has only been a two day trial so far.
